North Carolina Hiking Trails
 There are numerous North Carolina hiking trails located in the High
Country, which includes six counties in Western NC. Each trail is
different whether it leads to a great waterfall or overlook of the
mountains. North Carolina hiking trails have something for everyone
no matter your level of hiking experience. North Carolina hiking
trails are the perfect way to explore the sights of the High
Country. Many trails lead to a haven of rolling mountain views that
stretch all the way to Tennessee and Virginia.
There are several NC hiking trails close to Boone and Blowing Rock,
many of which are found just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Some
local and visitor favorites are the trails around the Moses H. Cone
Julian Price Memorial Park, many of which are also carriage trails.
The Boone Fork Loop Trail is almost 5 miles and is one of the nicest
trails to try first if your up for it. The Tanawha Trail is
also a favorite, however it's a bit longer, at about 13 miles.
Moving up closer to Grandfather Mountain and Linville there are also
some famous spots. The Linville Linn Cove Viaduct Trail,
Linville Falls Trail and Linville Gorge trails are all very popular
with visitors and offer some exciting sites of the Blue Ride
Mountains. Another popular trail is the Grandfather Profile trail;
you can try parts of it, or do the whole thing at once, but that's
an undertaking only for experts. Remember, before hiking the
Profile Trail you must receive a permit. If you are interested in
